Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Al-Itibaath: Journal of Arabic education  is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. The peer review process in this journal involves the following steps:

  1. Paper Submission: Authors submit papers online via the Open Journal System (OJS).        Submitted manuscripts are checked by an editor for scope, style, and plagiarism.
  2. Editorial Office Assessment: The editor assesses the paper's suitability for the journal, ensuring it aligns with focus and scope. They also check whether the paper meets the journal's guidelines and evaluate its quality. Plagiarism was checked using Turnitin.
  3. Assessment by the Editor-in-Chief: The Editor-in-Chief determines whether the paper is appropriate, original, interesting, and significant for publication. Otherwise, the paper may be rejected at this stage.
  4. Invitation to Reviewers: The handling editor invites appropriate reviewers based on their expertise and research interests. Reviewers are selected impartially, and their identities remain anonymous to the authors.
  5. Response to Invitation: Potential reviewers consider the invitation, their expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They accept or reject the invitation. If rejected, the editor may ask alternative reviewers for suggestions.
  6. Review Performed: The reviewer reads the paper several times, forms an initial impression and provides a detailed point-by-point review. They make recommendations to accept, reject, or request revisions.

7.The Journal Evaluates Reviews: The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor consider all reviews, and if there are differences of opinion, additional reviewers may be invited to provide additional opinions.

  1. Final Step: If accepted, the paper will undergo copy-editing. If a revision is rejected or requested, the handling editor provides constructive comments from reviewers to help the author improve the paper. The author revised the paper and resubmitted it. Once the editor is satisfied with the revisions, the paper is considered accepted and published online.

Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their papers through feedback and suggestions.
